Arabic Language Summer Courses

The intensive summer courses are for complete beginners (no previous knowledge required).

Level 1 will take place from 9 to 27 May 2022 and Level 2 from 13 June to 1 July.

Each level runs for 3 weeks and includes 10 hours of teaching per week. Classes will take place from 6-8pm Monday to Friday and you will be expected to undertake additional independent study.

Students within commuting distance of the College are encouraged to join the classes in-person, with a hybrid/online option also available for students further afield. 

To be able to join Level 2, you must meet the appropriate level of language or have completed Level 1 including assigned tasks.

Beginners 1

Beginners 1 is suitable if you have no knowledge of Arabic. By the end of the course, you will be able to introduce yourself, greet people and speak about your daily routine. Topics such as family and food will also be covered.

Beginners 2

Beginner 2  is suitable if you have completed our Beginners 1 course or have little or basic knowledge of Arabic. A placement test is required prior the start of the course to evaluate the your level. By the end of the course, you will develop the four core skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening and will cover topics such as travelling, weather, and shopping. Teaching will also include some visual-audio recording and teaching visual aids for interactive sessions.

How to register

Register online and let us know if you have any previous experience of Arabic language.

Fees are £250 per course and concessionary rates are available for the following (proof required):

  • Registered full-time students
  • Registered disabled
  • Registered unemployed

After you have submitted your application, you will receive an invoice which can be paid online using a credit or debit card. Full payment is required to secure your place.

If a programme is cancelled due to insufficient numbers, then a full refund will be given.
