Student Administration Assistant – Job Specification
Why work for Al-Maktoum College?
If you want to be part of a small, inclusive, mutually supportive College team, then Al-Maktoum College is the place for you. Our aim is simple. We aspire to grow as an independent, internationally recognised centre of Higher Education. The College focuses on lifelong learning through academic, technical and customised programmes recognised by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and the UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).
We are specialists. Our intellectual endeavours are dedicated to building bridges between communities that make up our city, nation and world today. In this all-inclusive approach to education, we believe, the College is a somewhat unique establishment in Scotland and the UK.
With approximately 25 staff, there is a community feel to the work environment and staff are encouraged to share their thoughts and opinions. We do not struggle with the bureaucracies of larger institutions and the College is able to quickly invest in systems and processes, to assist you to carry out your role as effectively as possible.
Because we are small in number and size, staff are required to work from their offices within the College building. However, we acknowledge that life happens and we aim to support staff by providing generous holiday entitlement, sick pay, mental health care and affording a level of flexibility when required.
In return for your hard work and commitment to your role, you will enjoy personal development and a level of autonomy over your busy and fulfilling position. The College will invest in you through high-quality training to enhance your knowledge and skill set. Additionally, we promote information sharing to keep each other updated on new resources, programmes and software. Staff are encouraged to teach themselves new skills and processes via online resources, training courses or working with third-party providers.
