The Concluding Ceremony of the Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education’s Summer School 2017 programme was held this week (Monday, August 7).
Dignitaries attending included HE Mr Mirza Al-Sayegh, Chairman of the College Board; HE Mr Sulaiman Hamid Almazroui, UAE Ambassador to London; Lord Elder, College Chancellor; Dundee Lord Provost Ian Borthwick and Professor Hossein Godazgar, Principal and Vice Chancellor.
A total of 61 female students from the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Malaysia took part in the successful programme, the 24th of its kind since the first Summer School in 2003. To date, more than 1,080 students have participated.
The Summer School study topics included Scottish history and culture, globalisation and multiculturalism, Muslim women and leadership, and presentation plus civilisational dialogue.
The third and fourth-year students came from Abu Dhabi University; American University in Dubai; College ofÂ Islamic and Arabic Studies; Higher Colleges of Technology; British University in Dubai; University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur; Zayed University; Cairo University; American University of Sharjah; Hamdan Awards for Distinguished AcademicÂ Performance; UAE University; Abu Dhabi Police Academy; University of Sharjah and Paris-Sorbonne Abu Dhabi University.
