Michelle Young

Biography 

Specialising in Public Sector Leadership and Health Inequalities, Michelle has previously worked in Education within the Local Authority. She comes from a background in consulting and project management across Councils, the Ministry of Justice, Primary Care Trusts, Health Authorities and the World Health Organisation, both within the UK and America. Latterly she has taught and delivered training and development throughout the NHS, Third Party Organisations and Councils across Scotland.

Michelle has recently submitted her PhD on Public Sector Leadership within the School of Education, CLD and Social Work, at the University of Dundee and is preparing to defend her thesis during a viva examination within the coming months.

Michelle has been an external lecturer for a number of universities across Scotland and has helped develop several courses and modules as well as guided organisations with designing on-line programmes both for students and employees.

Research Interests

Michelle’s research interests include Public Sector Leadership, the Social Determinants of Health, Health Inequalities, Equalities and Diversity, Engagement, Motivation and Performance, Human Resource Management and Leadership.
