Al-Maktoum College is pleased to be offering an online course in Arabic language for beginners, from 1-19 June 2020.
The Arabic Language & Culture online course is a unique and deliberately intense language package, designed for individuals looking to acquire new foreign language and culture skills, within a short period and small class sizes. Taught through a series of live online sessions- with language professional and native Arabic speaker Dr Tubuly– participants will cover Modern Standard speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, as well as engage in cultural discussions.
The course is aimed at language beginners and is open to participants from all backgrounds. It may be of particular interest however, to individuals who have dealings with Arabic speakers or have interest in business ventures within the Middle East.
The course will run for 3 weeks and involves 15 hours of live online teaching per week. Participants will also be expected to carry out 10 hours of independent study through each week.
Participants should ensure they have access to a good internet connection as well as a laptop, PC or tablet. Smartphones are not recommended.
Those who successfully complete the course have the option to apply to one of the College’s Arabic courses, fully SCQF credit-rated by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).
