Study outside of the classroom is important and the College has a range of teaching and learning spaces, providing students with an ideal learning environment, and enhancing their learning experience.

As the central space for study and research, the Library provides plenty of space across its three rooms. All are equipped with large desks and PCs. There are also ample plug sockets if you wish to use your own devices.


As the central space for individual study and research, the Library provides plenty of space across its three rooms. All are equipped with large desks and PCs. There are also ample plug sockets if you wish to use your own devices.

This larger study space is suitable for individual and small group study.

Often used by students, staff, and visitors for quiet study, it would be helpful for larger groups seeking space for collaborative group wors, to book alternative study space. The College has several study spaces to choose from.

The Arabic library space is suitable for individual or small group study. Like most other study spaces, the Arabic library facilities include plug sockets, desk space and College PC’s/laptops.

This space is often used by students and staff for meetings and collaborative work, as well as individual study space. Due to the popularity of this space, we ask that you book this space in advance. You will find more information regarding room bookings below.

Located towards the back of the second floor of the College, students will find social space which can be used for informal gatherings, individual study as well as group study. There is comfortable seating available, creating a more relaxed learning environment. The room is also equipped with tables, ample plug sockets and student lockers, which can be accessed during College open hours.

Lockers are available for hire by students and you can request one of these by filling out a form and paying a fee of £10 (which is refundable when the key is returned).

The Student Hub, situated within the tranquil College gardens, is accessible to students throughout College opening times. The space contains comfortable seating, heating and is the ideal space for socialising.

A key code is required for access, and this can be obtained from either College reception or the library.

Study space & room booking

If you require a room or space to study for a specific purpose (ie. working on a group project or presentation), you may find it useful to reserve one of the study spaces available in the library. If you require additional space and facilities, we’d be also happy to accommodate this. Please arrange this at reception or by emailing library@almcollege.ac.uk 

When booking, please include the following information:

  • the dates and times you will require space
  • the number of group members
  • information about the types of facilities you will require, eg computers, whiteboards, desk space etc.

The College will aim to respond to your enquiry as soon as possible and you will receive confirmation of bookings in advance of the date requested.
