Dundee In Dubai Event

The first-ever joint educational and business delegation from Dundee to Dubai, which was led by Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education, has been a great success.

That’s the view of College Secretary and Acting Head of College, Dr Abi Abubaker, who said this promotion of the city of Dundee and its ever-growing education and business sectors had been timely and worthwhile.

The College along with representatives of The University of Dundee, Abertay University and Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce spent three days in the United Arab Emirates.

“In addition to highlighting our programmes on Islamic finance and Islamic studies, the visit clearly showed the value of the partnerships with both universities and the Chamber and also what we can all offer collectively, Dr Abubaker.

“I believe we have all benefited from a successful visit.

Andrew Jackson, Consul General to Dubai and the Northern Emirates, hosted a celebratory event at the British Embassy.
Members of the College alumni community, along with University alumni, UAE partnering universities, financial institutions, and other dignitaries were also there along with Scottish Government Minister for Trade, Investment and Innovation, Ivan McKee.
