College features on top Malaysian education platform

In progressing with international reach efforts, Al-Maktoum College have successfully secured a study profile on a top Malaysian Higher Education website, afterschool.my.

The education platform is ranked as Malaysia’s “No.1 Higher Education website” and provides information on courses, institutions and scholarships for Malaysian students looking to study at foundation to degree levels.

Since the establishment of Al-Maktoum College in Dundee, a number of Malaysian students have graduated from the Colleges courses, including academic training and summer school programmes. These students have since gone on to have very successful careers, many now holding senior positions within academia and other such industries.

The College is committed to developing its ties with Malaysian education sectors and believes its presence on the ‘afterschool’ higher education advisory platform will validate the College and its variety or programmes.

Three new Masters (MSc) courses in Islamic Finance were launched by the College, in collaboration with the University of Dundee earlier in the year. Malaysia is a growing global hub for Islamic finance, with a vision for trained professionals, experts and academics working within the sector. The College looks to meet such needs. As the only institution in Scotland to offer Islamic finance at degree level, it is hoped that the programme will prove an attractive international study option for Malaysian students.

The articulation agreement between the College and Abertay University will also provide opportunities for students studying on the College’s HNC/HND Business and HNC Management and Leadership courses, to progress onto the second or third year of Abertay’s degree courses.

The College’s profile on the afterschool website can be accessed here.
