Bursaries & Scholarships Application

Application

Your statement should include the reasons why you should be awarded a scholarship and how this will suport you during your studies. Please include the following information:

  • Details of other members of the household, for example siblings in education
  • If you are or have ever been care experienced
  • Any other funding, for example government loans or university scholarships
  • Details of current employment and any plans to continue working during your studies

Documents needed:

  • Proof of household income – P60 or payslips for last year (dated April 2020)
  • Academic qualifications
  • Proof of UK residency (if relevant) or visa status

All students will be interviewed. More information will be provided after submitting your application.

The deadline for all Academic Year 2020/21 applications is Friday 18 September 2020

Students will be notified by Friday 2 October 2020 if they have been successful.

 

Al-Maktoum College International Excellence Scholarship

This is a scholarship of £2,000 which will be awarded as a tuition fee discount or can be paid towards your living expenses.

This scholarship is available to students who meet the following criteria:

  • Be classed as Overseas for fee status
  • Hold an offer to study at Al-Maktoum College starting in October 2020
  • Have demonstrated excellence through your academic (grades AAB at A-Level or equivalent or a second-class honours degree or equivalent), extra-curricular, or voluntary activities

How to apply

No separate application is needed. Your eligibility for the scholarship will be assessed based on your application to study, your personal statement and interview.

Upon receiving an offer of study at the College, you will receive a separate decision on this scholarship.

Islamic Studies and Islamic Finance Bursary

This bursary is a full tuition fee discount, plus an award of £3,000 that will be paid towards your living expenses.

This bursary is available to students who meet the following criteria:

  • Hold an offer to study full-time at Al-Maktoum College starting in October 2020 for any programme in Islamic Studies or Islamic Finance
  • Be classed as Home for fee status
  • Household income of less than £34,000 per year

How to apply

Complete the online application form. You will be asked for a supporting statement and proof of your household income.

Arabic Language Bursary

This bursary is a full tuition fee discount plus an award of £1,000 that will be paid towards your living expenses.

This bursaryis available to students who meet the following criteria:

  • Hold an offer to study (full-time or part-time) at Al-Maktoum College for Arabic Language
  • Be classed as Home for fee status
  • Household income of less than £34,000 per year

Business and Management & Leadership Bursary

This bursary is a full tuition fee discount plus an award of £3,000 that will be paid towards your living expenses.

This bursary is available to students who meet the following criteria:

  • Hold an offer to study full-time at Al-Maktoum College starting in October 2020
  • Not eligible for SAAS or SLC funding
  • Household income of less than £34,000 per year

How to apply

Business and Management & Leadership Bursary

(SAAS/SLC eligible students only)

This bursary is an award of £1,000 that will be paid towards your living expenses.

This bursary is available to students who meet the following criteria:

  • Hold an offer to study full-time at Al-Maktoum College starting in October 2020
  • Approved for SAAS/SLC tuition fee funding and loans
  • Household income of less than £34,000 per year
