SAAS funding available for new HNC/HND courses

Dundee’s Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education is in a unique position to help individuals looking to expand their prospects, make a career change, or to progress on to further academic qualifications.

The College is pleased to announce that its Higher National courses, in Business and in Management & Leadership, are now eligible for SAAS funding.

Applicants can apply for funding through the SAAS website. There are also College bursaries available for those who are not eligible for SAAS funding, and these are awarded on an individual basis.

Additionally, all HNC/HND applicants who apply to the College by 30 June will be provided with a laptop, iPad or tablet* to assist and facilitate their learning. The College is committed to supporting students throughout their studies.

Both contemporary courses are set to begin in September 2019 and are designed to provide participants with a fundamental understanding of business operations and management/leadership principles. Additionally, for those interested in working or travelling to Middle Eastern countries, the HNC/D courses will provide a unique teaching perspective vital to international strategy, management systems, regulatory frameworks and trading operations within International markets.

Dr Abubaker, Acting Head of College, said “The HNC/D courses are an excellent addition to the College’s already established programmes. They play a key part of the College’s future plans and we have every confidence that they will be successful.”

Exclusively to Scotland, the College will be the first educational institution to allow individuals the opportunity to study basic Arabic language (an introductory certificate) as an optional unit, alongside their chosen course (HNC/D).

The College works closely with local Universities to establish articulation routes, to ensure that students looking to continue their studies at degree level, have the opportunity to do so.

*You must accept your offer and meet all conditions to be eligible. Only applications to the HNC/D in Business and HNC/Diploma in Management & Leadership will be accepted.
