Biography

Fatima is an Arabic Language Teaching Fellow at the Al-Maktoum College and she is currently completing her Master of Education (M.Ed.) at Essex University. Before being named as Arabic Language Teaching Fellow in May 2021, Fatima was a Visiting Teaching Fellow, she taught SCQF5 & SCQF6 and was responsible for the Arabic language community evening course and Arabic Language Summer Course.

Prior to joining Al-Maktoum College, Fatima founded The Dundee Arabic Language Centre in 2014. She developed the curriculum and taught Arabic language classes for adults and children. Before that, Fatima was an Arabic teacher at several schools and institutes in Scotland. Fatima has over 15 years of experience in teaching Arabic as a forging language. She is a member of the British Association of Teachers of Arabic (BATA), Southern California Arabic Language Teacher’s Council (SCATC) and the American Association of Teachers of Arabic (AATA).

Research Interests

Fatima’s research interests include online learning, teaching Arabic as a foreign language, developing courses and training programmes.
