Effective managers are essential to the success of any business in today’s competitive economy. The HNC and Diploma in Management and Leadership are for existing managers or people aspiring to management positions.
The HNC and Diploma in Management and Leadership are recognised qualifications that are understood and respected by employers across many industry sectors. They develop a range of operational management and leadership competencies that are required by those engaged in, or aspiring to, managerial positions.
The HNC in Management and Leadership (SCQF level 7) covers management principles for those gaining their first experience of management or for those who aspire to become managers soon. Key areas covered: self-development; management and leadership skills; managing and working with others; planning/implementing change; managing operational resources; and customer care.
The Diploma in Management and Leadership (SCQF level 8) provides suitable competences for future career and personal development in middle/senior management duties including: using strategic management and leadership skills for longer-term direction of an organisation across a range of management functions; planning and implementing strategic change; management research; project management; and organisational risks.

Students can choose whether to study Full-time or Part-time (daytime, evening and/or weekends), and will be taught through a mixture of lectures, tutorials, case studies, group work, projects and Virtual Learning Environments.
Students will be assessed using continuous assessment and exams throughout the duration of the course.
