Academic Year 20/21 Update

Teaching arrangements- communication to students and staff

Last reviewed: 05/01/2021

Due to the recent announcement by the First Minister, mainland Scotland is now in a formal lockdown. We have taken the steps to close the college building and move fully online, College facilities including the library, dining area, IT Suite, study and social spaces, will be closed during this time.

For Semester Two, all of our courses will be delivered online. We aim to deliver the best possible student experience via our online learning platforms until it is safe for us to welcome all students back to the College.  The health, safety and wellbeing of the Al-Maktoum College community remains our priority and our staff are here to support you every step of the way. To keep everybody safe, for the foreseeable future, we will continue to work from home and deliver our learning, teaching and support services online.

All students are required to join scheduled online classes during term time. For instructions on how to use MS Teams, click here. For instructions on how to use Zoom, click here.

We know that learning and teaching online will provide challenges, but staff are on hand to help support students through adapting to new ways of studying and are available virtually to provide support and guidance to our students, stakeholders and partners. We’re committed to making sure all of our students feel a part of the College community and are able to undertake their studies in a safe and welcoming environment.

The College will be providing further details within the coming weeks and months, and we encourage all to stay updated via the College website and social media channels.
