Teaching across courses will be carried out mostly online, with the addition of some scheduled face-to-face learning where possible. The decision to do so is informed by Scottish Government guidance and is a move shared by other institutions within the Higher Education sector.

As government advice allows, the level of face-to-face teaching will be reviewed in preparation for Semester 2.

Classes across all courses, unless instructed otherwise by teaching staff, will continue to be delivered online via Microsoft Teams (MS Teams) and Zoom. All students are required to join scheduled online classes during term time. For instructions on how to use MS Teams, click here. For instructions on how to use Zoom, click here.

The safety and well-being of students and staff is our primary concern. With this in mind, we have developed principles for the opening of the College building- in line with social distancing restrictions- and will be carrying out sufficient health and safety assessments prior to welcoming students back to our small campus.

College facilities including the library, dining area, I.T Suite, study and social spaces, will be available to students during Semester 1 with procedures in place. If you wish to attend the College outwith scheduled face-to-face teaching, you should make the College aware prior to your arrival at the building. Please arrange by calling 01382 908070 between the hours of 9.00-12.00 and 13.00-16.30. Students attending the College outwith scheduled face-to-face teaching will also be required to complete a ‘track & trace’ form. Please keep in mind that access to computers and study spaces will be limited.

The College will be providing further planning details within the coming weeks and months, and we encourage all to stay updated via the College website and social media channels. For now however, we wish you well, stay safe and we look forward to welcoming, you to the Al-Maktoum College.
