Dundee’s top attraction- the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A)– received Al-Maktoum College students last week as part of their Academic Training Programme studies.
The V&A museum- winner of the prestigious Scottish RICS Award and in the running for the European Museum of the Year Award 2020- was designed by Japanese architect, Kengo Kuma as part of a worldwide design competition.
Upon entering, students were invited to the ‘Juniper Auditorium’ for a welcome talk by Mr Peter Nurick, Communities Producer at the V&A, before touring the buildings current exhibition entitled ‘Hello Robot’.
Since the buildings opening in 2019, the V&A has played host to various exhibitions including the ‘Ocean Liners’, and ‘Videogames’ exhibitions, in which previous ATP and Summer School groups had attended.
During the four-week Academic Training Programme, students will visit a number of attractions in major Scottish cities, before spending a final week in London, England. There is no doubt that this will be a positive cultural exchange opportunity for all.
